Barker Minerals Ltd. provided an update on drilling on its 100% owned Frank Creek volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) and gold project. FC-13-09 was drilled within 5 metres from the collar of the shallow FC-11-03 (approximately 48 metre depth) in order to confirm the 2011 gold discovery as well as to test the underlying Titan "Trend C" conductor for massive sulphide mineralization and to provide important geological information on the immediate 2011 gold discovery area. FC-13-09 was drilled to 146.35 metres and was successful in intercepting a broad zone of alteration and VMS style mineralization from 3.30 metres to 82.00 metres.

The mineralized zone was followed up by greywacke with a variable volcanic component to the end of the hole. Other rock types encountered were black slates, felsic volcaniclastics with quartz veining and alteration consisting of chrome mica (mariposite or fuchsite) silica and sericite. FC-13-10 was located 350 metres north of FC-13-09 and drilled to a depth of 128 metres.

The hole encountered alternating rock units of argillites and altered volcaniclastic rocks. The alteration consists of sericite, carbonate, chlorite and silica. FC-13-10 is interpreted to represent the eastern margin of a shallow basin.

Exploration to date indicates the eastern ends of L57N and L59N have many similarities to mesothermal, or mother-lode style, gold mineralization. Similarities include host mineralogy, carbonate alteration and proximity (less than 100m) to a structural break characterized by ultramafics and listwanites. Due to the intensely fractured nature of the rocks in the L59N target area, FC-13-11 was a short geological 26.85 metre hole oriented to the west that was intended to, and subsequently did, confirm the westerly dip of the stratigraphy.

Drilling is continuing with a planned 250 metre hole (FC-13-12) which is set up approximately 125 metres to the west of the FC-13-10/FC-13-11 drill collars. This hole is intended to evaluate a near surface conductor for possible massive sulphide mineralization as well as to test a secondary deeper high resistivity target which may represent alteration around a gold vein system.
