AMR Corporation reported consolidated traffic results for the month and year to date ended December 2012. Consolidated revenue passenger miles were 11,294,250,000 against 11,066,153,000 for the same period last year. Available seat miles were 14,085,931,000 against 13,812,771,000 for the comparable period last year. Consolidated capacity and traffic were 2.0% and 2.1% higher year-over-year, respectively, resulting in a consolidated load factor of 80.2%, an increase of 0.1 points versus 80.1% for the same period last year. Domestic capacity and traffic were 1.6% and 2.4% higher year-over-year, respectively, resulting in a domestic load factor of 81.6%, 0.6 points higher compared to the same period last year. International load factor of 79.3% was 1.2 points lower year-over-year, as traffic increased 2.1% on 3.7% more capacity. December's consolidated passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) increased an estimated 1.6% versus the same period last year. On a consolidated basis, the company boarded 8.9 million passengers in December.

For the year to date ended December 2012, consolidated revenue passenger miles were 136,560,266,000 against 136,333,790,000 for the same period last year. Available seat miles were 166,129,600,000 against 167,746,876,000 for the prior year. Load factor was 82.2% against 81.3% of prior year period.
