The celebration was a coordinated national event, hosted by the Canadian Airport Council (CAC), in collaboration with 35 Canadian airports. The event demonstrated appreciation for airport staff with in-person events taking place throughout the day.

CAC honoured five workers with national awards, drawing attention to the important role they play in keeping the Canadian economy moving.

Recipients of the Canadian Airports Award for 2024 included:

  • Leanna Anderson from Halifax-Stanfield - Operational Excellence
  • Alistair Stewart from Air Canada at Toronto Pearson - Industry Champion
  • Marcos Zambrano from Toronto Pearson - Environmental Steward
