The Canadian dollar weakened against the greenback on Tuesday,
and the yield on benchmark government debt slipped.
The loonie was trading 0.2% lower at C$1.3369 to the
greenback, or 74.8 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of
1.3341 to 1.3378.
Canadian government 10-year bond yields fell 0.9
basis points to 3.237%. The yield on similar U.S. government
benchmark debt rose to 4.0266%.
U.S. February crude futures rose $1.22 to $71.99 a barrel
on Tuesday.
The value of building permits in Canada fell -3.9% in November,
Statistics Canada said.
