Sept 15 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 index is seen opening higher on Friday, with futures up 0.59%.

* DR MARTENS: Dr Martens plans to launch a shoe repair service in Britain next month as it seeks to polish its sustainability credentials, encourage customers to extend the life of their boots, and create a new revenue stream.

* SHELL: Shell Plc said it has identified a cybersecurity incident involving some employees who worked with company's unit BG Group in Australia before merger, becoming latest victim of MOVEit hack.

* BP: The chair of BP Helge Lund has ruled himself out as the oil giant's next chief executive, The Financial Times reported.

* TRINIDAD: Shell PLC has given financial approval for development of massive Manatee gas field offshore Trinidad and Tobago, country's Prime Minister Keith Rowley said.

* METAL: Copper prices were firmer in Asian trade, on track for weekly gains, as top metals consumer China boosted policy support for a sputtering economic recovery.

* OIL: Oil prices rose and are set for third weekly gain, as better-than-expected Chinese economic data and reports of record oil consumption bolstered view that demand in world's second-largest crude consumer will continue to surge.
