FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - RTL shares extended their sharp losses from the previous session on Wednesday. The stock fell by just over three percent in morning trading, following a seven percent drop on Tuesday.

At 29.25 euros, the shares hit their lowest level since early 2025. Shares in ProSiebenSat.1, the broadcaster owned by Italian media group MFE, eased 0.8 percent in mid-week trading.

RTL's TV advertising revenues fell by 6.5 percent in the first quarter, according to Annick Maas of investment firm Bernstein. The business continues to suffer from increasing competition from streaming providers.

The economic weakness in the German market is also weighing on both RTL and ProSiebenSat.1./bek/zb
