LVenture : LUISS ENLABS opens the new call for “Smart Production & Productivity” Startups

On January 30th, 2018 LUISS ENLABS, one of the leading startup accelerators in Europe, born from a joint venture between LVenture Group, listed holding company investing in digital startups, and LUISS University opened the Call for Applications to participate in the Smart Production & Productivity Acceleration Program.

The program will begin in June 2018 in the new spaces of LUISS ENLABS and LVenture Group in Milan at Milano LUISS Hub for students and makers.

Responding to the Call by March 3rd, 2018, the most promising startups will have the opportunity to access an intensive 5-months process aimed at transforming projects in the early stages of life into companies that make revenues on the market.

The Startup Accelerator LUISS ENLABS is strong of a network of investors, corporates and institutions and a community of startups and actors in the innovation scene.

Every year, LUISS ENLABS organizes four Acceleration Programs: two based in Rome and open to digital startups operating in all sectors and two based in Milan with a vertical focus.

A program dedicated to Lifestyle is currently being held in Milan and the 'Smart Production & Productivity' sector has been chosen as the theme for this new call to continue to fully leverage on the city's potential, renowned globally for its entrepreneurial spirit and for the specific know-how linked to its industrial nature.

'Smart Production & Productivity means digital innovation of production and operational processes within companies: a phenomenon that is rapidly leading us to what can be defined as the Fourth Industrial Revolution' - explains Augusto Coppola, Managing Director of LUISS ENLABS - 'This is the biggest change in the era of modern technology for large corporations, but also for small businesses, which in the coming years will have to implement the use of innovative solutions that increase interconnection and cooperation between resources such as assets physical, people and data and information'.

To access LUISS ENLABS Acceleration Programs, startups must propose competitive solutions in rapidly growing market sectors and must already have a working prototype of the product or a validated idea (Minimum Viable Product) and a team with a complete set of skills, in particular those of technological development, willing to commit to the project full-time.

More specifically, this call is aimed at solutions that have an impact in terms of optimization of consumption and increase in productivity and efficiency of companies, operating, for example, in the segments of Artificial Intelligence, AR / VR Assisted Production and Simulation, Big Data, Blockchain, Cybersecurity, Corporate Welfare, Corporate Wellness, Event Prediction, IoT, Logistic, Smart Contracting and Smart and Digital Manufacturing.

Startups operating in the reference sectors and responding to the requirements can apply online through the LUISS ENLABS website. A first selection of startups will be invited to take part in the 'Selection Day', a meeting with LUISS ENLABS team and part of the Board of Advisors after which the final choice is made.

The startups selected for the program participate in thematic seminars and are followed in business development, investor networking, management and technological development by a team of experts and a Board of Advisors of over 50 relevant members and receive an investment by LVenture Group of 80 thousand euro for a 9% equity.

The Accelerator adopts the Scrum method: a system to manage the work of the team aimed at accelerating the growth of companies and based on the definition of objectives to be achieved in 2-weeks 'sprints' followed by 'Checkpoints' in which to present the results obtained and data collected. After the first 2 months, mainly dedicated to the development of the product, the phase of validation and tests on the market will start. In the last month, startups will have to produce revenues and prepare for the presentation to investors, corporate and press during the Demo Day, the final event of the program to be held in November 2018.
