Wendel reports consolidated sales of 3443 ME for the 1st half, up 6.5% on the same period a year earlier (+6% in organic terms). Sales were driven in particular by strong performances from Bureau Veritas and Crisis Prevention Institute.

On the other hand, net income (Group share) came out at 39.6 ME, down on the net income (Group share) for the 1st half 2022 (+479.8 ME), which had been marked by a base effect linked to the capital gain realized on the disposal of Cromology (589.9 ME).

' We have begun to deploy our new strategic orientations announced last March, with a strong rotation of the portfolio, with the acquisition of a majority stake in the Scalian group, and today's announcement of several firm offers received on Constantia Flexibles ', says Laurent Mignon, Chairman of Wendel's Executive Board.

Indeed, Wendel today finalized the acquisition of Scalian, investing €557 million in equity, representing an enterprise value of around €965 million. Wendel holds approximately 82% of Scalian's capital, alongside the company's management.
