To better serve the growing technology needs of its customers, Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC), announced today it will be working with two leaders in agricultural technology: Ag Leader and Trimble. Farmers using Ag Leader's SMS TM Software or Trimble's Farm Works TM Mapping software are now able to submit their field data electronically via RCIS' Precision Farming service, a crop insurance data tool that provides farmers with the ability to upload their planting data electronically. The enhanced solutions will improve communication between the farmer and the agency, decrease paperwork and increase overall efficiency.

"As the role of technology in the farming industry continues to grow, farmers need access to improved technology to help with data management and recordkeeping," said Rick Greenwood, CIO of RCIS. "With our expanded technology platform and collaboration with Ag Leader and Trimble, RCIS provides farmers with the tools and support they need to efficiently manage risk and their businesses."

The new improvements will decrease data entry and provide the producer and the agent direct access to their policy data. New features include performance improvements, the ability to support a multi-file import, and training for both agents and farmers.

"These enhancements will be valuable additions to what RCIS provides farmers," said Steve Manning, a farmer insured by RCIS. "I look forward to seeing how their new collaboration will help me to use the data I collect during planting and harvesting, and speed up how quickly I'm able to report this information with my crop insurance agent."

"Ag Leader and Trimble provide great value to our business by increasing our capabilities and providing farmers with an improved user experience including less paper, and faster response time and payment," Greenwood continued.
