Waseda Academy Co., Ltd. (TSE:4718) announces a share repurchase program. Under the program, the company will repurchase up to 480,000 shares, representing 2.52% of its share capital, for ¥736.32 million. The repurchase price per share is ¥1,534.
The company will repurchase its shares in order to improve capital efficiency and enable flexible capital policy in the future. As of May 27, 2024, the company had 19,012,376 shares outstanding (excluding treasury shares) and 76 shares in treasury.
WASEDA ACADEMY CO.,LTD. is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in education-related businesses and real estate leasing business. The Company operates through two business segments. The Education-related business provides exam preparation education for students, sells English education lessons and educational contents. The preparatory study work operates in the Tokyo metropolitan area, including Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, Chiba, and Ibaraki prefectures. It provides instruction for elementary, middle and high school students in Ibaraki Prefecture with Mito Academy.
