Volkswagen AG is launching its revamped Phaeton in the United States by 2017 or 2018. The model is likely to be priced at USD 86,000. The vehicle is expected to be based on the automaker's MLB platform, shared with the next-generation Audi A8, with a choice between six- and eight-cylinder engines in the United States.
Volkswagen also plans to launch a hybrid engine with up to 400bhp.
