Valeo and California-based Zutakore announced on Monday the signing of an agreement to supply advanced cooling systems for data centers.

The four-year commercial agreement was made public at the CES technology show, which opened its doors in Las Vegas, USA. Financial terms of the contract were not specified.

The French automotive equipment supplier is thus broadening the range of applications for its vehicle thermal systems management business.

At a time when the data boom is raising challenges in terms of energy consumption and emissions, the waterless liquid cooling solution proposed by the two groups makes it possible to cool the most powerful processors - of 1,500 watts and more - and reuse the heat they give off, they said in a press release.
