Reflecting its ongoing research and development programs, to which the Valeo Group allocated €1 billion in 2012, Valeo is unveiling its new technologies designed to make driving easier and safer while generating time-savings for motorists.

To support its development in the years ahead, Valeo is presenting three major technologies for a more intelligent mobility that is connected to the drivers and their environment:

- The Automated Valet Parking. To be demonstrated at CES, this innovation transforms vehicles into their own automatic valet. The Automated Valet Parking allows drivers to leave their car at the entrance of a car park and let the car find a suitable space to park itself. Drivers activate the fully automatic parking feature remotely using their smartphone. Similarly, they can use their smartphone to call their car to pick them up when they leave.

- Eye control systems. Valeo developed a driving assistance system controlled by eye movement. To be demonstrated on the Valeo stand, this eye control technology is based on interaction between the car and the driver's eyes. Thanks to a gaze detection camera, the driver can change the radio station or get traffic information, for example, simply by looking at a control button. When combined with Valeo's heads-up display (HUD) technology, which projects dashboard controls onto the windshield, this system allows motorists to activate a control without taking their eyes off the road.

- FullLED lighting systems. Valeo's FullLED lighting system will be introduced on the new Cadillac Escalade in the United States in 2014. In addition to its innovative design, LED technology makes it possible to develop headlamps that outlast the car itself.
What's more, when equipped with Valeo's PremiumLED system, headlights also
become intelligent. Headlamps equipped with BeamAtic® PremiumLED provide maximum visibility, without blinding oncoming or overtaking motorists.

Valeo's participation in the 2014 CES trade show is in line with the Group's innovation strategy, which aims to make driving more intuitive and more intelligent for all vehicle categories. The Group's objective is to create systems that reduce CO2 emissions and energy consumption, while at the same time enhancing driving enjoyment.
