Unitil, a provider of electricity and natural gas to customers in New England, is pleased to announce Katherine A. Bourque has been promoted to Senior Vice President of External Affairs and Chief Customer Officer.
In her new role, Bourque will be responsible for customer and stakeholder-facing strategies and processes, including all aspects of the Company's branding and marketing strategies, external affairs, communications, customer service and customer energy solutions, and energy efficiency programs.
"I am pleased that Kat will take on this very important senior leadership role," said Thomas P. Meissner, Jr., Unitil's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "As energy markets and policy become increasingly complex, it is important that we develop thoughtful customer-facing strategies, and that we engage in productive two-way communications with our many stakeholders. Kat's experience, leadership, and communications skills are ideal for this position."
Bourque joined Unitil in 2019 as the Company's Director of Government Affairs. Most recently, she served as Unitil's Vice President of Policy and Corporate Relations. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of both the Maine State Chamber of Commerce and New Hampshire Business and Industry Association, and is a member of the New Hampshire Union Leader's 2024 "40 Under 40" class of young professionals working to enrich New Hampshire's communities through their careers and volunteerism. Bourque holds a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and is an active member of the New Hampshire Bar Association.
