AXA Winterthur and Tamedia are planning to offer joint products in the area of mobility

AXA Winterthur and Swiss media group Tamedia have agreed to enter into a long term partnership to jointly offer new products for the Swiss motor market. AXA Winterthur will acquire a 50 percent interest in the online motor platform autoricardo.ch, part of Tamedia.

Zurich, 10 January 2018 - For most buyers, finding a suitable vehicle is a long process and involves countless questions. AXA Winterthur and Tamedia are joining forces, combining the capabilities of AXA Winterthur in the field of insurance, mobility and financing and Tamedia's know-how in classifieds and its market coverage, to stimulate the Swiss motor market with new concepts. In addition to new options concerning used cars, other services in the field of mobility will also be offered through this partnership. The two partners have agreed not to disclose details about the financial terms of the transaction.

With autoricardo.ch, Tamedia operates one of the leading motor portals in Switzerland. AXA Winterthur is the number one in the Swiss insurance market with comprehensive solutions in personal, property, liability and life insurance as well as in healthcare and occupational pension plans. The two companies intend to use their individual strengths to develop a forward-looking business model and offer innovative, up-to-date solutions relating to mobility.

The transaction is subject to the approval of the Swiss Federal Competition Commission.
