Time Warner Cable Business Class (TWCBC) today announced it is the first North American company to receive all six retail Carrier Ethernet (CE) 2.0 certifications granted by the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF). The MEF CE 2.0 certifications were received for E-Line (EPL/EVPL), E-LAN (EP-LAN/EVP-LAN) and E-Tree (EP-Tree/EVP-Tree) service configurations. The company also boasts a total of 57 MEF-certified employees, 24 of whom are CE 2.0 certified.

"Businesses rely on Time Warner Cable Business Class to deliver highly-scalable, reliable and standards-compliant network solutions. CE 2.0 certification reiterates our commitment to delivering these network solutions using cutting edge Ethernet technology that is certified by an industry recognized organization like the MEF." said Greg King, Senior Vice President and Chief Product and Strategy Officer, Time Warner Cable Business Services.

A recognized industry leader, TWCBC has been at the forefront of Ethernet services innovation, becoming the first Multiple System Operator (MSO) in the world to receive MEF 14 certification (part of MEF CE 1.0) in 2008. The company was a leading innovator in delivering Ethernet services over DOCSIS, which lead to an additional MEF recognition as the North American Carrier Ethernet Service Provider of the Year for Service Innovation, also in 2008.

TWCBC Ethernet services, available in over 58,000 fiber-lit buildings and 800,000 DOCSIS-equipped buildings, provide a reliable, scalable, high bandwidth network solution to interconnect business locations within and across metro markets, with speeds ranging from under 1 Mbps to 10 Gbps (speeds available in most areas). The service is delivered over a fiber-rich network backed by industry leading Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

"Carrier Ethernet has become the industry's biggest success story of the past decade. A milestone was reached last year when for the first time Carrier Ethernet services share of bandwidth exceeded the sum total of all legacy telecoms services across the world, making it the dominant technology in the carrier space. Time Warner Cable Business Class is one of the many companies continually driving the industry to new heights, as supported by this accomplishment," said Nan Chen, President, MEF.
