Tenaris received the Economic Impact Award from the Sault Ste.

Marie Chamber of Commerce in recognition of the company's meaningful contributions to the local economy and commitment to the community of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada.

The award, sponsored by Algoma Steel, honors a Chamber member that has made significant contributions to the economic vitality of Sault Ste. Marie through innovation, entrepreneurship, new investments, and commitment to the region. Algoma Steel Vice President, John Naccarato, presented the award to Martin Castro, President of Tenaris in Canada, during the annual Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Awards ceremony held on May 9.

Over the past four years, Tenaris has invested more than $200 million at its industrial center to centralize its pipe manufacturing operations in Sault Ste. Marie, expanding its product capabilities to better serve the development of Canada's energy resources.

These investments have resulted in Tenaris growing its employee base to 1,200 across Canada as well as the company expanding its oil and gas customer base.

'We are here for the long haul. Our investments for growth extend outside our industrial walls as our success considers the strength of our communities,' said Martin Castro. 'We believe that strength stems from the collective advancement of our community, ensuring the next generation of leaders have the educational resources at hand to train and improve their skills.'

Tenaris was also presented with the Community Investment Award from the Chamber for its leadership and longstanding commitment to the community, for nearly 25 years.

In the last year, Tenaris has invested $750,000 in community initiatives, with the majority directed towards projects in the Sault. Tenaris's community focus has centered around education, raising awareness, and introducing students and young professionals to skilled trades and STEM-related fields through training, infrastructure, and scholarships. Additionally, the company has provided strategic donations, including support for healthcare in Northern Ontario, such as bursaries for family physicians. Tenaris also encourages employee volunteerism and participation in family-focused events and festivals that promote cultural diversity and inclusion.

Tenaris also sponsored three Chamber awards recognizing indigenous reconciliation, safety, and community investment.
