Our Manchester team has collected more than £200 worth of donations for local homeless charity, The Brick, at our Pennington Wharf development, in Leigh.

The Brick, has worked with people in Wigan and Leigh since 2008 and provides advice and support for families and individuals in crisis, whether they've been affected by domestic violence, homelessness or debt.

Janet Mitchell, fundraising and business engagement manager at The Brick, said: 'We are overwhelmed by the number of donations. These small acts of kindness for members of the community will make a huge difference to our clients.

'Among the donations we have collected include nappies and baby products and tins which will make the world of difference to those that we support. We're very grateful to Taylor Wimpey for offering to host this foodbank and would like a say a huge thank you to all those who donated.'

The provisions have now been collected and will be distributed by The Brick to a range of people in need in the area. The charity's food bank is the largest in the Wigan area and distributes more than 10,000 items every year.

Chloe Dunn, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Manchester, commented: 'The foodbank was hugely popular. The community at Pennington Wharf and the local area really pulled together to show their support for those less fortunate and we're proud to be building in an area that looks out for one another as much as Leigh does.'
