Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. started selling its Optical Thunderbolt Cable at Amazon.co.jp, one of the world's major online stores, on January 8. The cable comes in lengths of 10m, 20 m and 30 m to best serve customers' needs.

Based on Intel's technical specifications, Sumitomo Electric developed Optical Thunderbolt Cable by combining its advanced optical fiber cable and optical module technology with Intel's high-speed transmission technology. Sumitomo Electric have received Thunderbolt certification from Intel Corporation for the Optical Thunderbolt Cable and have started the mass production in December 2012.
