Solvay announced on Tuesday that it is extending the capacities of two of its units specially designed to recycle residues from the flue gas cleaning process.

By the end of 2025, recycling capacity at the Resolest site, near Dombasle (Meurthe-et-Moselle), is set to increase by 60%, while that at Solval, in Rosignano (Itale), is set to rise immediately by 30%.

Solvay points out that the gases are treated using its patented 'SolvAir' technology, based on sodium bicarbonate, which enables various industries, such as waste-to-energy plants, power stations, cement plants, glass manufacturers and shipping, to effectively eliminate over 99% of pollutants.
