Sierra Metals Inc. reported consolidated production results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2012. For the quarter, the company reported silver production of 683,937 oz against 605,121 oz for the same period last year. Copper production was 4,334,000 lbs against 3,458,000 lbs for the same period last year. Lead production was 8,696,000 lbs against 7,961,000 lbs for the same period last year. Zinc production was 14,706,000 lbs against 10,666,000 lbs for the same period last year. Gold production was 2,181 oz.

For the year, the company reported silver production of 2,620,735 oz against 1,517,079 oz for the same period last year. Copper production was 15,851,000 lbs against 10,496,000 lbs for the same period last year. Lead production was 35,720,000 lbs against 19,636,000 lbs for the same period last year. Zinc production was 59,012,000 lbs against 36,341,000 lbs for the same period last year. Gold production was 10,491 oz. Increase in production was the result of Management's efforts to consolidate operations in Peru and Mexico and the realization of subsequent operating efficiencies.

The company also announced production consolidated guidance for 2013. For the period, the company expects production of silver in the range of 2,582,000 to 2,922,000 oz, copper in the range of 20,400,000 to 23,100,000 lb, zinc in the range of 53,700,000 to 60,700,000 lb, lead in the range of 42,400,000 to 48,000,000 lb and gold in the range of 6,000 to 7,000 oz.
