Siemens has announced a 100 million euro investment to expand its circuit breaker plant in Frankfurt, adding a 3.5 hectare site in the Ostend district.

The investment coincides with the inauguration of a new warehouse and extended production area.

The expansion will create 400 new jobs by 2027, and will enable the new facility, operational in early 2025, to produce SF6-free medium-voltage circuit breakers using Clean Air insulating medium.

In this way, Siemens aims to reduce carbon emissions and create sustainable networks. The new buildings have also been awarded DGNB Gold certification for sustainability.
