FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - Shares in Siemens Energy fell sharply on Tuesday afternoon during a presentation on the wind power business of its subsidiary Siemens Games. Initially, the shares of the energy technology group lost almost twelve percent before they were able to stem the decline somewhat to around seven percent.

Gamesa CEO Jochen Eickholt had stated that the company wanted to become more active again in the onshore wind turbine business as soon as possible. One trader said that the market had thought that the focus was more on offshore wind power. Onshore had always been problematic in the past, but would now be continued.

Another Borsian argued similarly: the onshore business is less attractive than offshore, which is why Eickholt's statements "were probably not well received". In addition, the fear of a capital increase continues to resonate in the market./ajx/jha/
