Drawing inspiration from South Korean flavors, ingredients and techniques, Shake Shack has added Korean-style fried chicken to the menu. Available through April 5 at all U.S. locations, options include:

  • Korean-style Fried Chick'n: crispy chicken breast glazed with a spicy-sweet Gochujang (fermented chili paste) sauce on top of a white kimchi slaw, made with Choi's kimchi, and topped with toasted sesame seed. ($7.19)
  • Korean-style Gochujang Chick'n Bites: crispy, whole-white meat chicken bites served with spicy-sweet Gochujang mayo sauce. ($5.19 for 6-piece and $7.19 for 10-piece).
  • Korean-style Gochujang Fries: crinkle-cut fries served with spicy-sweet Gochujang mayo sauce. ($3.49)
  • Black Sugar Vanilla Shake: caramel and toasted-black sugar mixed with vanilla frozen custard and topped with whipped cream and black sugar syrup. ($5.69).

Inspired by a trip to Seoul to visit the country's first Shake Shack, the culinary team was exploring the neighborhood when a local bartender suggested a Korean fried chicken spot to try.

Shake Shack South Korea released a Gochujang Chick'n Sandwich in October 2020, which is a slight variation on this U.S. menu item, according to the company.

Shake Shack now has 14 locations in South Korea.
