Safran has announced that its greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets have been validated by the independentScience Based Targetsinitiative(SBTi).

These targets cover direct emissions (scope 1) and indirect emissions (scope 2) linked to the energy consumption of the Group's operations, as well as emissions linked to the use of its products (scope 3).

Safran has pledged to reduce its emissions from scopes 1 and 2 by 50.4% by 2030 compared with the 2018 reference year, and those from scope 3 by 42.5% per seat/kilometer by 2035 compared with 2018.

'The validation of SBTi attests that the greenhouse gas emission reduction targets set by Safran are compatible with achieving the objectives of the Paris Agreement, decided at COP21 in December 2015', Safran assures.
