Rolls-Royce is to supply Battery Park Zeewolde (BPZ) with a 32.6-megawatt, 65.2-megawatt-hour battery storage system in Zeewolde (Netherlands), to be operational by summer 2025.

The contract includes a ten-year maintenance agreement, and will help stabilize the Dutch power grid.

Located next to the Zeewolde wind farm, the wind farm will store excess wind energy and release it when there is no wind.

Covering an area of 2,000 m2, it will make a "significant" contribution to sustainable energy supplies.

Rolls-Royce adds that an additional 140 MWh project and a hydrogen plant are also in the pipeline.
