  • The Mégane Collection 2012 line-up features the three new Energy engines which all benefit from experience gained in F1. As a result, the model is now the most fuel-efficient in its class and qualifies for the €400 'eco-subsidy' available in France [1] .
  • Collection 2012 versions stand out through their more contemporary front-end styling and LED lights, plus new wheels, the introduction of a new selection of upholsteries and an upgraded equipment specification, including the latest R-Plug&Radio+ range.
  • GT and R.S. Renault Sport versions boast even more assertive looks, while the engine of Mégane R.S. delivers peak power of 265hp and up to 360Nm of torque when the R.S. Dynamic Management 'Sport' Mode is selected. Prices for Mégane R.S. start from €29,950.

The Mégane Collection 2012 line-up sees the introduction of three new Energy engines: the Energy dCi 110, the Energy dCi 130 and the brand new Energy TCe 115, all of which benefit from the technological excellence showcased by Renault in F1.

Powered by the Energy dCi 110, a radical metamorphosis of the 1.5 dCi, Mégane Collection 2012 sets a new fuel-consumption record of just 3.5 litres/100km. It is the first diesel car in its class to emit just 90g of CO2/km and to benefit from the €400 'eco-subsidy' available in France.

With the Energy dCi 130 - the market's most powerful 1.6-litre diesel engine - under the bonnet, Mégane Collection 2012 consumes just 4.0 litres/100km, equivalent to CO2 emissions of 104g/km with €100 eco-subsidy.

The list of petrol engines has been extended to include the 1.2 litre Energy TCe 115. This new turbocharged block features direct fuel injection and marks the comeback of modern, competitive petrol engines with fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of 5.3 litres/100km and 119g/km respectively, a saving of 25 percent. These three engines all qualify for the Renault eco² signature.

An upgraded range

Mégane Collection 2012 is easy to recognise thanks to its more contemporary front-end styling and new range of wheels. Five new upholsteries are also available, while the line-up comprises five equipment levels: Authentique, Expression, Dynamique, Bose and GT.
The Authentique equipment level comes with one-touch indicators and a radio-CD audio system from the new R-Plug&Radio+ range, with MP3 playback and Bluetooth® and Plug&Music connectivity as standard.

From the Expression equipment level up, the dual-zone automatic climate control of Mégane Collection 2012 is now equipped with a toxicity sensor, while Estate versions are fitted with roof bars and the Coupé with 16-inch Kaléido alloy wheels. The 'Business' variant packs specific equipment for business customers, including rear parking sensors, ESP and Carminat TomTom Live® navigation.

The Dynamique version is now more lavishly appointed, thanks to details like the chrome grille trim and LED daytime running lights, as well as new 17-inch Plenum alloy wheels (specific 17-inch Pragma wheels for the Coupé) and new Java Natté fabric upholstery.

The Collection 2012 range is topped by the Bose equipment level which carries over the features of the former Bose® Edition limited edition version from 2011, including the Bose® Sound System, front and rear parking sensors and electrically-folding door mirrors. On top of this come connected Carminat TomTom Live® navigation, an automatic parking brake coupled with Hill Start Assist, tyre pressure monitoring, an electro-chrome rear view mirror and lit vanity mirrors. A new Dark&Light Grey Charcoal leather/Alcantara upholstery is also optionally available.

Other safety- and comfort-enhancing options are available, such as the Look Pack for Expression and Business versions (LED daytime running lights, body colour side protective mouldings and 16-inch alloy wheels) and the Hi-Tech Pack for Bose, GT and Renault Sport versions (Visio System®, reversing camera).

More assertive personalities for the sporty versions

More than ever, the GT version expresses its Renault Sport pedigree thanks to a specific front end which incorporates boomerang-shaped rows of LED lights, 18-inch Dark Metal Serdard alloy wheels and Renault Sport seats trimmed with brand new, two-tone Cool Grey leather upholstery.

The front end of Mégane R.S. is more expressive, too, with its signature F1 blade, two rows of six LED lights and black headlight masks. The two former equipment levels, R.S. and R.S. Luxe, have been carried over.

The R.S. version sits on 18-inch Dark Anthracite satin-finish Tibor alloy wheels, while the inside features visible red stitching for the carbon seats, steering wheel, gear lever knob and gear lever bellows. The red seat belts match the dashboard trimming strip, while the centre console and air vents are picked out in a gloss black finish.

The R.S. Luxe version comes with a new Charcoal leather upholstery, in addition to the existing hands-free card and directional bi-Xenon headlights.

A number of new options have been added to the catalogue, including 19-inch wheels derived from those of the limited edition Trophy version, as well as a Red R.S. Design Pack which comprises red pin-striping for the F1 blade, sills and diffuser.
