New car registrations in France were stable at -0.06% year-on-year in December, according to data released Sunday by the Automobile Platform (PFA).

A total of 158,027 passenger cars were registered in France last month, the PFA reported. December counted 22 working days in 2022, compared with 23 the previous year.

Over 2022 as a whole, the market recorded an annualized decline of 7.83%, with 1,529,035 registrations.

New car registrations for the Stellantis Group, which includes the Peugeot, Citroën, DS and Opel brands, fell last month by 23.94% year-on-year.

The Renault group (Renault, Dacia and Alpine brands) saw its registrations in France decline by 0.88% year-on-year in December.
