A consortium headed by Sue Douglas is in talks with Trinity Mirror plc for a possible acquisition of a majority stake in the Sunday People tabloid. Simon Fox, Chief Executive of Trinity Mirror said, that the potential deal would be very unsettling for staff of Sunday People. Fox added, "No decisions have been taken and we will keep the team fully informed should this move forward." A spokesman for Trinity Mirror said, "Trinity Mirror can confirm it is in very preliminary discussions regarding a joint venture for publishing the Sunday People.
