Derk Sauer appointed RBC CEO

Moscow, November 6, 2013 - RBC OJSC (Moscow Exchange: RBCM) hereby announces that the company's Board of Directors has resolved to appoint Derk Sauer as RBC's CEO starting from today. In addition to that, the Board of Directors appointed Maria Erlandts as the company's CFO.  

Among other decisions passed by the Board of Directors of RBC was the appointment of Valery Senko, Director for Investments of ONEXIM Group, as the Chairman of RBC's Board of Directors, while Derk Sauer became Deputy Chairman of the Board.  

Compositions of RBC Board of Directors' committees and Executive Board were revamped. As a result, the Executive Board comprises the following members:

1. Derk Sauer (Chairman), President and CEO of RBC OJSC;
2. Elena Myasnikova, Vice President of RBC OJSC;
3. Nikolay Molibog, First Deputy CEO of RBC OJSC;
4. Maria Erlandts, CFO of RBC OJSC;
5. Alexander Lyubimov, CEO of RBC TV CJSC.

Biographies

Derk Sauer is one of Russia's most influential media managers. He has been President of RBC since December 2012 and CEO of RBC since November 2013. Additionally, Mr. Sauer is Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of RBC OJSC. In 1970-1980s, he was a correspondent of Belfast and Title Filme television companies. Mr. Sauer was an editor of magazines Twingtig and Neiuwe Revu (the Netherlands). He founded the Soviet Union's first glossy magazine Moscow Magazine and Moscow Guardian newspaper in 1990. Derk Sauer has been at the helm of Sanoma Independent Media publishing house, which publishes newspapers The Moscow Times, Vedomosti, magazines Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Harvard Business Review etc., as CEO in 1992-2008, and as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board in 2008-2013.

Maria Erlandts has been Deputy CEO for Finance of RBC since November 2013. Maria has an extensive experience in finance. Before joining RBC, for 10 years (2002-2013) she was Financial Director at Business News Media CJSC, which is a publisher of Vedomosti newspaper. She was responsible for financial management and planning, budgeting and budgetary control, accounting operations, and tax planning. From 1996 to 2002 she held a number of positions in the financial unit of PepsiCo Russia.
