PT Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam Tbk : Increase Production Performance, PTBA Realize Mining Electrification Program

In order to smooth the program of electrification of mining, PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk or PTBA investments worth Rp1 trillion to purchase 40 units of electric dump trucks and eight units of electric shovel manufactured by Belazia, a manufacturer of heavy equipment from Belarus, one of the countries in Eastern Europe.

Purchase of mining equipment driven by electric power was made possible through cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and PTBA. Later, the Belazia will take full responsibility for maintenance of electrical mining equipment.

PTBA Production Director Joko Pramono said the visit of the Ambassador of Belarus is on the initiative of Belarus to review the coal mining area of PTBA in Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra, and also to check the arrival of the means of production purchased Belazia PTBA some time ago.

According to Adib, by applying the electrification program of mining operations, PTBA will have the benefit of the production sector because until now PTBA has had a power plant with a capacity of 3 x 10 MW coal fired a low calorie, while the consumption of electricity that is used only reach 8 MW.

Adib Ubaidillah hope, in the future, PTBA can run coal mining operations by gradually reducing dependence on subcontractors and become more independent.
