Through its beauty brands, Procter & Gamble (NYSE:PG) announced today that Alicia Sacramone, Beijing 2008 Olympic Games silver medalist, will serve as an ambassador for P&G beauty brands including COVERGIRL®, Olay®, Pantene® and Secret®. Sacramone's involvement is in addition to P&G's partnership with USA Gymnastics and its global marketing partnership with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in support of the Olympic Movement, which will reach through the next five Olympic Games from London 2012 through the 2020 Olympic Games.

"I'm thrilled to partner with P&G Beauty and am so appreciative of their sponsorship of USA Gymnastics and the U.S. women's team," said Sacramone. "When I'm competing, confidence is key and nothing boosts me like feeling beautiful inside and out. I turn to P&G beauty brands like COVERGIRL, Olay, Pantene and Secret on a daily basis to give me the confidence to take on anything."

Since joining the U.S. National Team in 2003, Sacramone has won a total of 10 World medals, the most World medals won by a U.S. gymnast. Since returning to competitive gymnastics in 2010, the 24 year-old has won the World and U.S. vault titles and was a member of the 2011 World Championships Team that won the team gold medal. Sacramone also holds the most vault titles in U.S. women's history (five) and is a four-time USA Gymnastics' Sportswoman of the Year - a reflection of her leadership both on and off the mat.

"Our goal is to inspire young women with the message that when you believe in yourself, anything is possible," said Gina Drosos, Group President, P&G Beauty. "Alicia and the members of USA Gymnastics are incredible role models, and we are so proud to partner with them. Together, we want to help people achieve their personal best every day."

"Beauty and sports share an empowering effect, bringing young women together to lift their spirits, connect emotionally and face the world with confidence," said Drosos. "The women of USA Gymnastics demonstrate that it takes more than physical strength to be at their best. We are proud to be a part of their Olympic Games journey and share their positive message with women everywhere."

Sacramone and members of USA Gymnastics' U.S. Women's Senior National Team will be fully integrated across numerous marketing channels including advertising, in-store promotions, public relations, digital and social media. Participating brands include: Always, Clairol Nice 'n Easy, COVERGIRL, Crest, Ivory, Olay, Pantene, Secret, Tampax and Venus. Several P&G beauty brands, including COVERGIRL, Olay, Secret and Venus, will also release a selection of top-selling products in P&G special limited-edition Olympic Games packaging.

In addition to the U.S. Women's Senior National Team, P&G's sponsorship of USA Gymnastics includes title sponsorship of the COVERGIRL Classic; presenting sponsorship of the Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Champions; television inventory and onsite presence for USA Gymnastics' premier events, the AT&T American Cup, Visa Championships and Kellogg's Pacific Rim Gymnastics Championships; grassroots sampling through gymnastics clubs; programs and promotions for USA Gymnastics membership, including sweepstakes, discounts, coupons, etc.; and integrated exposure in USA Gymnastics' publications and website.

In addition to the sponsorship of USA Gymnastics, Procter & Gamble (P&G) will continue their "Thank you, Mom" campaign as part of their larger sponsorship of Team USA during the London 2012 Olympic Games.

As any Olympian will tell you, there is nothing like the support of family when training, working hard and facing tough competition. But no one offers better support than a mom, and Sacramone can attest to that. Therefore she is taking her partnership with P&G one step further and saying "Thank You, Mom." "My mom has been there for me in good times and bad times and always motivates me to be my best," says Sacramone. In celebration of the "Thank You, Mom" campaign, Sacramone, other Olympians and P&G, are also taking the time to recognize and honor these very important women in their lives.
