May 22 (Reuters) - Swedish electric vehicle maker Polestar will not be reporting its first-quarter results on May 23, a spokesperson confirmed in an email to Reuters on Wednesday.

The company will first need to file its annual report for the year ended December 2023, which it is looking to do "as soon as practicable," it had said last week.

The delay is partly because Polestar needs more time to finalize its financial statements over accounting misstatements in 2021 and 2022 that will be rectified in the 2023 report.

Nasdaq, the U.S. exchange where Polestar's shares are listed, last week warned the company of a potential de-listing. (Reporting by Arsheeya Bajwa and Niket Nishant in Bengaluru; Editing by Shailesh Kuber)
