Orsted has opened the operations and maintenance base for its 752MW Borssele 1&2 offshore wind farm off the coast of the Netherlands. The base is located at North Sea Port in Vlissingen-Buitenhaven. It is 2100 metres squared in size and will support between 50 and 100 workers. Offshore work on the wind farm kicked off earlier this month, with DEME Offshore installing the first of the project's monopile foundations. Borssele 1&2 will feature 94 Siemens Gamesa 8MW turbines, installation of which will start in April.
