"The gold system at Bibemi is now confirmed over a strike length of almost 12km at surface," said Claire Bay

Oriole Resources PLC (LSE:ORR) announced the results of a recently completed soil sampling programme at the Bibemi gold project in Cameroon.

The analysis covered 1,455 samples taken over the southern half of Bibemi, which extended and infilled historical sampling grids.

The results confirmed a continuation of the structurally-controlled gold system at Bakassi Zone 1 which is now seen as connecting to the Lawa West prospect, around 3 kilometres to the southwest.

"We're pleased to see that these results have demonstrated a clear continuity of gold anomalism between the Bakassi Zone 1 and Lawa West prospects, despite there being only limited veins outcropping at surface," said Claire Bay, Oriole executive director for exploration and business development.

"The gold system at Bibemi is now confirmed over a strike length of almost 12km at surface.

"A trenching programme will now be designed over the strongest anomalies at Lawa West and Lawa East, to help identify potential drilling targets to follow the pilot campaign completed last year."

At Bakassi Zone 1, meanwhile, a Phase 3 drill programme is now complete with results expected later this quarter.
