Office Depot (NYSE: ODP), celebrating 25 years as a leading global provider of office supplies and services, today announced the grand opening celebration of its new small format store in Hoboken, N.J., at 59 Washington St. (Washington Street and Newark Street) on Saturday, January 21, from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Customers can have their cake and eat it too during a special appearance and autograph session (available to the first 100 attendees*) with Buddy Valastro, owner of the world famous Carlo's Bakery. Attendees can sample a slice of his well-known cake (while supplies last) at this celebration welcoming the Office Depot store to the Hoboken neighborhood. Also, the Make-a-Wish Foundation of New Jersey is being recognized with a $1,000 donation from the Office Depot Foundation.

Office Depot executives and local dignitaries will participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony, while Valastro presents a larger-than-life, custom-designed Office Depot cake.

"On behalf of everyone at Carlo's Bakery, we're excited to welcome Office Depot to the Hoboken neighborhood. This really is a thriving small business community and it's great that Office Depot is now here to help with everything we need to keep our business running smoothly," said Valastro.

Not only is this particular Office Depot store brand new to the neighborhood, but it represents an entirely new retail format as well - created by Office Depot specifically to serve "on the go" customers in an urban setting. Hoboken is the first store in the Northeast to debut this new ultra-convenient format, which is being rolled out in select markets across the country. At 5,000 square feet, the new small format Office Depot store is more intimate and simple to navigate, enabling customers to find what they need quickly and save valuable time while shopping for office supplies and services.

According to Kevin Peters, Office Depot President for North America, "Today's small business customers value convenience and speed. They want to quickly navigate the store, find what they need and get back to their business."

Located just blocks from the Hoboken transportation terminal, the new Office Depot store offers a full suite of business services including Copy & Print Depot and Tech Depot Services and houses nearly 5,000 products - everything from furniture to file folders, technology to toner, shredders to everyday supplies.

The Office Depot store in Hoboken employs about 21 associates. Store hours are Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This location can be reached by phone at 201-533-4414.
