On Wednesday evening, chipmaker Nvidia, inventor of the GPU, reported adjusted EPS (non-GAAP) of $6.12 for the first three months of the 2024-25 financial year, up 461% on the same period last year.
Also in year-on-year comparison, gross margin improved by 12.1 points to 78.9%, on record sales up 262% to $26 billion, including data center sales up 427% to $22.6 billion.
Our data center growth was fueled by strong and growing demand for training and inference of generative AI on the Hopper platform", explains Jensen Huang, its founder and CEO.
For its second accounting quarter, Nvidia notably estimates its adjusted gross margin at 75.5%, plus or minus 50 basis points, for revenues expected at $28 billion, plus or minus 2%.

Net sales break down by industry between data storage (55.6%), gaming (33.6%), professional visualization (5.7%), automotive (3.4%) and other (1.7%).
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: the United States (30.7%), Taiwan (25.9%), China (21.5%) and other (21.9%).
