Today, Nordic Mining has sent a letter to the Ministry of Local Government and Modernisation and the Ministry of Climate and Environment regarding deposition of particles of nano-size from the planned fjord disposal in connection with the Engebø rutile project.

The intention of the letter is to clarify issues brought up in a letter to the ministries from the NGO "Naturvernforbundet", stating that the content of nanoparticles in the tailings will have a negative effect on the environment. Nordic Mining has answered this statement, and also attached a memo from Det Norske Veritas ("DNV GL") regarding the issue.

Nordic Mining cannot see that the content of particles in nano-size will be of a problematic character or pose any special concerns for the planned disposal.

Nordic Mining's letter to the ministries and the memo from DNV GL is enclosed for information. Both the letter and the memo are in Norwegian.
