German aircraft engine manufacturer MTU Aero Engines launched a 300 million euros ($321.1 million) promissory note, a debt instrument with a short-term maturity, it said on Wednesday.

"The promissory note is divided into two tranches: EUR161 million with a tenor of three years and EUR139 million with a tenor of five years," MTU said.

The proceeds will go toward general corporate financing, MTU CFO Peter Kameritsch said.
