Tianjin Cosmo Polyurethane Co., Ltd. (President: Mitsugu Kita; 'TCPC'), a Chinese subsidiary of Mitsui Chemicals & SKC Polyurethanes Inc. (Co-CEOs: Ki Don Won & Shingo Shibata; Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. 50% / SKC Co., Ltd. 50%), received a 'Platinum' ranking from SMBC China and became the first company to receive the newly launched SMBC China Environmental Assessment Loan of the Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (China) Limited (President: Toshiyuki Tatsuta; 'SMBCCN'), a wholly owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (President & CEO: Takeshi Kunibe; 'SMBC').
The new SMBC China Environment Assessment Loan, which supports environmental-friendly activities of companies in China, was jointly developed by SMBCCN and Ernst & Young China. Financing services are provided with reference to assessment results of a customer's Environmental Management System, which is conducted in accordance to criteria complying with environmental regulations in China.
TCPC, under an integrated environmental management system, received a 'Platinum' ranking as a company which proactively implements environment and sustainability ('E&S') initiatives derived from evaluated E&S opportunities/risks, in alignment to the corporate vision/mission statement.
