BRACKLEY (dpa-AFX) - After a disappointing Formula One season, Mercedes will present its new race car on Feb. 15. The car, identified as W14, will be unveiled at a digital event broadcast live from Silverstone. Mercedes announced on Thursday. "The 2023 car builds on the experience of the previous year, which forced the team to face and overcome numerous challenges with the W13," it said in a review of the car from last season.

For the first time in eight years, Mercedes failed to win the Constructors' World Championship in 2022. In the drivers' championship, record champion Lewis Hamilton only finished sixth, his British teammate George Russell fourth. The drivers' world champion was once again Dutchman Max Verstappen, who also won the constructors' title with Red Bull. The new reserve driver at Mercedes is Mick Schumacher, who had to leave the U.S. team Haas after two years as a regular driver./mom/DP/jha
