Berlin/Stuttgart - The most important people of the German fashion industry and many celebrities gathered yesterday in the restaurant Borchardt to celebrate the popular Mercedes-Benz & VOGUE Fashion Night. Around 350 guests followed the invitation of Christiane Arp, editor-in-chief of VOGUE, and Dr. Jens Thiemer, Head of Marketing Communication of Mercedes-Benz Cars, for a casual get-together. Among them were Dree Hemingway, Anna Maria Mühe, Sabine Christiansen and Norbert Medus, Susan Hoecke, Katharina Schüttler, Thomas Kretschmann, Christian Boros, Joachim Löw, Livinia Wilson, Franziska Knuppe, Oskar Roehler and Alexandra Rischer-Roehler, Fritzi Haberland, Dennenesch Zoudé, Dorothee Schumacher, Lena Hoschek, Kilian Kerner, Dawid Tomaszweski, Michael Sontag and the governing mayor of Berlin Michael Müller with his wife Claudia.

The foundation of the German Fashion Design Council (GFDC) announced by Christiane Arp on Monday, was the main focus of the conversation and received great approval. The association will promote German fashion design and strengthen its public recognition as a cultural and capital asset nationally and internationally. Besides Christiane Arp, president of the foundation and co-host of the event, several founding members of the GFDC were present at the Mercedes-Benz & VOGUE Fashion Night.

Seeing as Mercedes-Benz lays great importance on the support of international fashion platforms and the promotion of young designers, Dr. Jens Thiemer supported the initiative as well: " We're always looking forward to seeing the latest collections from all the exciting young and established German Labels showing here in Berlin. We believe that Germany has great fashion talents and Berlin is the perfect city to showcase this."
