For Immediate Release January 4, 2013 Providing Comprehensive Coverage for Critical Illness Manulife-Sinochem Introduces the "Changbao Jiankang" Critical Illness Platinum and Diamond Packages

As the first foreign-invested joint venture Life insurance company in China, Manulife-Sinochem has a wealth of experience and is finely in tune with local customer preferences. MSL has put that knowledge to good use and is pleased to introduce the "Changbao Jiankang" Critical Illness Platinum and Diamond Packages. This new insurance solution provides long term critical illness protection with three layers of security. A policy holder that claims for critical illness will still have Life insurance coverage and the surrender value of the policy. Also, following claim for critical illness, all future premium payments will be waived for the life of the policy. The product comes in two packages, Platinum and Diamond, to meet the needs of customers with different protection needs.

People in China have enjoyed the benefits brought about by industrialization, yet modern life has brought with it both blessings and burdens. Citizens have benefited from rising incomes but must now worry about the adverse effects of environmental pollution, work pressure, and poor food safety. While new medical technologies can cure many of the diseases that are side-effects of modernization, people still face high costs of medical treatment. Fortunately, awareness has spread in recent years so that consumers now better understand the important role that insurance products must play in their financial planning.

Manulife-Sinochem is devoted to providing solutions for our customers' most important financial decisions. The insurance solution we are introducing today comes with multiple benefits that meet the needs of various customer types. The "Platinum Package" includes protection for 40 different critical illnesses, and customers may claim a total of 3 times for total benefits of up to 330% of the basic sum assured. If the policy is still in effect when the insured reaches the age of 85 and has not yet claimed for critical illness, then the customer will receive 110% of the sum assured. What's more, "Changbao Jiankang" is a participating insurance product, thus, customers may take part in the profits derived from the product through annual dividend distributions.

Clients in need of more insurance protection can opt for the "Diamond package" which not only covers most of the benefits of the "Platinum package," but also includes  protection from accidents from age 18 to age 60. The "Diamond package" also has an extended coverage period past the age of 85 to the whole life of the insured. Moreover, if prior to the age of 70 the insured is diagnosed with 1 of 10 different diseases, such as very early stage malignant tumor, then the customer will receive 20% of the sum assured. Benefits for accidental death coverage in the "Diamond Package" apply to accidents occurring between the ages of 18 and 60 and equal 110% of the basic sum assured.

Manulife-Sinochem is committed to providing reliable insurance solutions that meet the needs of Chinese consumers and has developed a whole series of unique, high quality critical illness products.  "Changbao Jiankang" is a result of this commitment, providing simple and easy to understand yet comprehensive critical illness insurance coverage that is flexible enough to meet the needs of a diverse customer base.
