Furnas and Light announced they had signed an agreement to create a special purpose company (SPC) to build and operate a power substation at Rio de Janeiro's Olympic Park. Light will hold a 50.1% stake in the firm dubbed Energia Olimpica, while Furnas will control the remainder. Rio de Janeiro's Olympic Park is a sports campus which will host the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
