State-run Central Bank of India spurted 6.15% to Rs 88.85. The stock topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group.

Infrastructure developer Lanco Infratech jumped 6.07% to Rs 14.34. The stock was second biggest gainer in 'A' group.

State-run Indian Bank climbed 6.03% to Rs 210.10. The stock was third biggest gainer in 'A' group.

GMR Infrastructure rose 5.17% to Rs 20.35, with the stock extending Monday's 2.65% gains triggered by the company's announcement that following the lowering of Development Fee at Delhi airport, the period of levy has been extended. The stock was fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group.

State-run Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) rose 5.14% to Rs 90.05, with the stock extending Monday's 0.58% gains triggered by the bank's board of directors approving a rights issue of 20 crore equity shares of the bank. The stock was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group.

IOB's board has also given an in-principle approval for issue of 20 crore fully convertible preference shares of face value of Rs 10 each at par, to be converted into equity shares of Rs 10 face value at premium (to be decided at the time of issue) at a future period not exceeding five years from date of issue by way of private placement.
