Chief Information Officer, Kuehne+Nagel Group

Martin Kolbe (German, born 1961) became the Chief Information Officer of the Kuehne+Nagel Group in November 2005. Kuehne+Nagel is one of the world's leading logistics providers and number one in Sea and Air Logistics, based in Switzerland. In his role as CIO, Martin Kolbe completely redefined the IT Strategy for the Kuehne+Nagel Group, with a new governance model.

Martin Kolbe graduated as a computer scientist. He started his

career in IT in 1986 in the field of organisation and computer applications. Since then, he held various positions in IT management. From 2002 to 2005, he was working for DHL Express as CIO for Europe and Germany. He was also a member of the Supervisory Board in several DHL-associated companies. Martin Kolbe joined Kuehne+Nagel in 2005, assuming the role of CIO for the Group.

During his leadership tenure, Kuehne+Nagel became a provider of one of the strongest IT solutions (transport management systems, visibility-solutions, etc.) for its customers in the forwarding industry.
