  1. Insulet follows an operational control approach to calculate our emissions and utilizes the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) global warming potential (GWP) values. Our calculations include carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), and refrigerants.
  2. Due to the acquisition of Insulet Irvine in 2022 and minor calculation methodology changes, 2021 values are a restatement of GHG emissions as disclosed in the 2021 Sustainability Report.
  3. Due to the acquisition of Insulet Irvine in 2022 and minor calculation methodology changes, the 2021 values are a restatement of energy consumption as disclosed in the 2021 Sustainability Report.
  4. Direct energy consumption includes stationary and mobile fuel combustion. Indirect energy consumption includes purchased electricity.

  1. This only reflects water usage at our facility in Acton, Massachusetts. In 2022, we improved our data tracking processes and identified additional sources of water usage in our operations, which led to a significant increase in our reported water usage compared to 2021. We are continuously improving our data collection and validation processes to enhance the accuracy of our reporting and ensure transparency.
  2. In scope suppliers include Pod bill of material suppliers, our PDM supplier, and our Pod contract manufacturing partner. Risk level is determined from the RBA's Risk Platform, which is based on a variety of public domain and supplier audit data across social, environmental, and business ethics topics.
