Iberdrola, through its subsidiary in Spain, has installed its first 2,000 charging points at Mercadona supermarkets and workplaces, the Spanish food distribution group, building the largest semi-fast charging network in the country.

The points located at some 450 Mercadona locations throughout Spain are part of the collaboration agreement signed by the companies last year to promote sustainable mobility.

With this partnership, Iberdrola Espana will be responsible for the supply, commissioning and operation of up to 3,500 charging points in 800 supermarkets in Spain and Portugal. With this infrastructure, while shopping users can charge their car batteries with up to 22 kW of power, meaning they will be able to charge 100 km in 45 minutes or, to put it another way, gain sufficient autonomy for an average day's driving.

All points are powered by 100% energy from renewable sources with a guarantee of origin certificate. All the points are available on Iberdrola Espana's public charging app, the most highly rated in the industry, where you can find and geolocate verified information on all the chargers, check their operation in real time and reserve and pay from your mobile phone.
