Hyundai Motor Company is launching a performance version of its all-new Elantra sedan, Leftlane. The model is likely to be called the Elantra Sport and will compete with the Honda Civic Si and Volkswagen Jetta GLI. It is to be launched later 2016 as a 2017 model and is to be unveiled later this year at the 2016 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

The Sport package will include a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine generating 200bhp, an independent rear suspension and a standard six-speed manual transmission. The Elantra Sport will also be available with a dual-clutch semi-automatic transmission.
