HITIQ Limited announced a commercial agreement with the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, to supply HITIQ's Nexus head impact sensor technology for research purposes. The agreement includes a 12-month software license and provision of 70 Nexus units to University of Canterbury. The University of Canterbury, New Zealand has purchased HITIQ's Nexus head impact sensors for use in a study that aims to assess the relationship between head impacts and cognition in youth rugby union. The study is being conducted on youth male and female rugby players. The HITIQ impact sensor data is at the crux of the research as it provides significant insight into the head impact characteristics that cause changes in cognition and brain structure. The
rugby players will undergo cognition and MRI screening pre and post season as well as after a diagnosed concussion.
